Our students are currently on a trip to Rome having an unforgettable experience. A group of excited students set off for Italy on Saturday ready to explore ancient history, famous landmarks, and of course, plenty of pizza and gelato along the way.
One of the highlights of the trip so far was visiting Vatican City. Students had the chance to admire the incredible art and architecture, including the breathtaking Sistine Chapel. Seeing such famous works of art in person was an amazing experience and gave everyone a real appreciation for the history and culture of the area.
Another memorable stop was the iconic Trevi Fountain, where students followed tradition and tossed a coin over their shoulder to ensure they would one day return to Rome. With plenty of photos taken and a few carefully aimed coins, it’s safe to say many students are already planning their return!
Of course, no trip to Rome would be complete without visiting the legendary Colosseum. Walking through the ancient amphitheatre, students learned about the gladiators and events that once entertained thousands of spectators. It was a powerful reminder of how long this incredible city has been at the centre of history.
The group also travelled to Pompeii, where they explored the remarkably preserved ruins of the ancient city destroyed during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Seeing the streets, homes, and artefacts gave everyone a fascinating glimpse into life nearly 2,000 years ago.
The trip is filled with learning, laughter, and a lot of walking, but it will be truly an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. A huge thank you goes to Ms Stanley, Ms Jones, Ms Power, Ms Seery, and Mr Stobie for organising the trip and bringing the students safely on such an amazing adventure. We wish you all a safe return tonight!
