Belief, Prayer and Practice

When you look around you, do you ever feel alone in your beliefs? Do you sometimes feel that your own sense of right and wrong is different from what you see on the television, hear on the radio, or read in the newspapers? Do you sense that we may be losing some of our core values in our pursuit of the better life? If you experience these feelings, the good news is that you are not alone.

These very real feelings are felt by others. My hope is that I can link these people together. In times past, this meant calling a meeting and getting everyone together in the same room for a talk or a discussion. Now, thanks to the internet, we can link with others while we sit at home and do it at a time that suits us. (By the way, this is not restricted to past-pupils.)

I believe that the Ten Commandments are written on our hearts, that Christ and His mother, Mary, can be models for us and that if we seek the happiness which lasts, we will try to live by those beliefs. This is not always easy. We are human (and sometimes all too frail) but it can all become a bit easier when we link with others who share our beliefs. We can support and encourage each other. We can learn from each other and share our own insights.

If you are interested please email me at ppupils@stlaurencecollege.com putting “I’m interested” in the Subject line and I will be back to decide with you how we might proceed.

Blessings,

Jim, S.M.
