Parent-Teacher Meetings

Parent/ Teacher meetings are a crucial opportunity for the school and home to touch base and review how students are getting on at St Laurence College. While academic attainment is crucial in terms of how a student develops and evolves throughout each year group, what is primary is ongoing communication, support with parents that positively affect  how students learn at school. One mechanism that best facilitates all of these things is the face to face contact and conversations that occur at these meetings.

St Laurence College has, minimally, one Parent/ Teacher meeting per year group each year: usually with two for 6th year and 7th year students.

At these meetings, subject teachers are available to you to discuss academic attainment and targets set for each individual student in each class group. In addition to this, tutors & Year Head, members of the Learning Support department, members of the Chaplaincy team and the Home School Liaison Coordinator are also available to you!

The Principal and Deputy Principal are present and available at every Parent/ Teacher meeting.

In keeping with the Croke Park Agreement and DES circular M58/ 04 , Parent/ Teacher Meetings are held after school on each occasion. Notification of an upcoming P/T Meeting is sent home in advance in writing with students, by text and also posted on this website .
